چکیده
Ecological nutrient management is a strategy that can help create resilient cropping systems and reduce the negative impact agricultural have on environment. enhances plant-soil-microbial interactions optimizes crop production while providing key ecosystem services. Incorporating perennial legumes into rotations implementing no-till to enhance organic nitrogen (N) soil pools could need for inorganic N fertilizer inputs lead improved health. Plant be further quantified understand how health across range of agroecosystems. This paper aims quantify plant in contrasting perenniality (corn–corn, corn–soy, corn–forage–forage) tillage intensity (chisel till vs. no-till). Key plant, soil, organismal metrics cycling were measured including fine root production, N-Acetyl-B-Gulcosaminidase (NAG) enzyme activity, protein, nematode enrichment opportunist (fungal bacterial feeding nematodes) Enrichment Index. Fine was determined using in-growth mesh cores. Findings reveal monoculture with reduced had significantly greater (FRN), protein NAG activity ( p < 0.05) relative corn-soy. Additionally, bacterivore opportunists b 1) corn-corn when compared all other rotation systems. Correlation analyses indicated positive significant relationships between FRN 0.05). These results demonstrate lengthening incorporating increase inputs, mineralization rates, storage. Such ecological approaches potential increasing long-term productivity.

Root distribution, standing crop biomass and belowground productivity in a semidesert in Mxico
In a semidesert community in México (Zapotitlán de las Salinas, Puebla) the vertical distribution of roots and root biomass was estimated at 0–100 cm depth on two sampling dates, November 1995 (wet season) and January 1998 (dry season). Root productivity at 7 to 14.5 cm depth was estimated with the in-growth core technique every two months from March 1996 to February 1998. The relationship betw...

The Corn Belt of the Midwestern United States is among the most productive grainproducing regions of the world. Yet the development of the Corn Belt has been accompanied by a suite of environmental concerns. Alternative systems have been proposed that remediate environmental quality while relying on fewer external inputs (e.g., synthetic nitrogen fertilizer) than dominate cropping systems of co...

A long term study was done to assess the impact of on farm reservoirs (OFR) on oil seedand cereal based cropping systems with vegetables (okra, tomato and carrot) in semi-aridalfisol of southern Telangana region. Two supplemental irrigation (SI) depths (30 and 50 mm)from OFR with raingun system were studied for assessing the water productivity andprofitability of the technology in these croppin...
متن کاملTopographic Patterns of Above- and Belowground Production and Nitrogen Cycling in Alpine Tundra
Topography controls snowpack accumulation and hence growing-season length, soil water availability, and the distribution of plant communities in the Colorado Front Range alpine. Nutrient cycles in such an environment are likely to be regulated by interactions between topographically determined climate and plant species composition. We investigated variation in plant and soil components of inter...
متن کاملNitrogen deposition alters nitrogen cycling and reduces soil carbon content in low-productivity semiarid Mediterranean ecosystems.
Anthropogenic N deposition poses a threat to European Mediterranean ecosystems. We combined data from an extant N deposition gradient (4.3-7.3 kg N ha⁻¹ yr⁻¹) from semiarid areas of Spain and a field experiment in central Spain to evaluate N deposition effects on soil fertility, function and cyanobacteria community. Soil organic N did not increase along the extant gradient. Nitrogen fixation de...
